Friday: Making Progress

We've cleared the debris and brush and have now spent two days preparing the soil and planting rows of little bushes along paths between and beside the concrete building pads. Actually we're planting sticks... they're a bush that, when you put a stem in contact with the earth, it immediately sprouts. They build hedgerows out of them. We have planted hundreds of little sprouted sticks...

 We have to clear the rocks out of the pathways and level them as possible. We came across a little rock, that as we dug, grew, and grew, and grew... it was huge! I told the guys to work around it, but they were determined to move it. I said, "There's no way you're going to move it, guys - it's too big."

"Sure we can!"

"Yeah, right. Twenty bucks says you can't."

They shared the winnings... ice cold Cokes all around!
